Passion. Heartbreak. Pride. Confidence. These are not adjectives that one would normally come to associate with video games. But given the ever growing popularity of this entertainment genre, more and more people have been striving to make competitive gaming legitimized. Esports, as they’re called. And as one could imagine, there is a fair bit of controversy involved with the scene. Many people are against it, providing that video games already have a negative impact on society and that holding video games in the same vein as major league sports would be toxic. But I’m here to provide just the opposite. Video games have the potential to not only be more popular than major league sports, but more beneficial to society as a whole.
